Sneaking Proud Peacock!

Here we are at day #2 of the OCL sneak peaks!
Whaddya think?  Anything catch your eye?

Today I'm showing you a sneak of a set I illustrated called Proud Peacock!
I have this love/hate relationship with birds.
I love them on paper.  I love them from a distance.  I love them when they are not flying.
Other than that...I pretty much hate them.  Ok ok hate is a strong word.  They just make me nervous.  It's the whole aerial advantage thing.
I don't know if peacocks can fly...can they?
They are pretty just the same...and here is my pretty pink peacock...

I colored her with copics and then used Sparkly Fluff on her lower body and wing...purple sparkly fluff on parts of the feathers..Sugar sparkles and ranger glossy accents.
This girl is Blinged Out!

Make sure to leave a comment to win on every blog you hop to!  Go to the OCL Blog for all the deets!

ETA:  Thanks for all of your well wishes yesterday..I will pass them on to Beth & Todd!  xoxo

Sneaking Scaredy Cat!

**This post was written 8/23/11 - prior to a severe parasailing accident that involved our best friends.  Many of my facebook friends already are aware of this.   This event has been emotionally draining on all of us and I'm asking all of my readers to keep them in your prayers.
**************************************************************
Yay!  It's my favorite time of year..time for OCL sneak peaks!  And today I'm sneaking an image of mine called "scaredy cat".  This is available as a "crafty cling single" through OCL and their retailers.
I colored miss scaredy cat with copics and threw some 24k gold crafty sparkles on her collar and hat buckle.  The hanging spiders are from my Spook-tacular set and they are covered in eyeliner black sparkly fluff.  I love fuzzy black sparkly spiders as long as they are not real! ;)
I made the coffin using my silhouette...have I mentioned how much I love that machine?
BOO!
Did I scare ya?

I added the loose candy corn just for the photo...I didn't have a cute little bag to put it in.
This would be the perfect size for a miniature candy shaped like a skeleton.
Or..candy corn would work just fine too!
(I ended up eating these for breakfast!)
Don't judge me!

Make sure to check out what everyone is sneaking..there are a lot of cute images being released!  You can find all the deets on the OCL Blog!

Pssst:  There is candy to be given away
(and I'm not talkin' 'bout the "corn"!)  :)

OCL & May Arts: Craftin' & Chillin'

I have to start out by saying that this may very well be my most FaVoRiTe card of all time.
Say What?
Using possibly my most FaVoRiTe ribbon EVEH.
YUP.  I said it!
Thank you May Arts!  :)
So...do you wanna lounge with me?  ;)

I stitched around the card with brown thread then adhered (using teeny bits of scor-tape) my favorite squiggly may arts "ribbon"(a/k/a Cool Natural Jute).  Everything is sponged with SU Sahara sand and Ranger walnut stain.  The flowers were cut out and sponged with some generic crystal bling.  The chair & pillow are paper pieced.  The brackets and library card (with Craftin' and Chillin' stamped on it) are from my silhouette.   How I love that machine!

So...have you stopped by the OCL and MayArts Blogs to see what other projects are out there?  Be sure to keep up with the OCL blog and tune back here on Friday as well!  Remember...leave a comment here, there and everywhere to be entered to win blog CANDY!  The OCL Blog has all the deets!

As always..Thanks for Stopping by!

OCL & May Arts Week!

Hi!  It's May Arts week at OCL!
I have been a fan of May Arts ribbon for quite some time now.   Make sure you stop by their website and blog to check them out!
The generous peeps at May Arts sent us some ribbon to play with and boy oh boy did I play!

(I even played along with the OCL Challenge this week...if you have a chance, play along!)

What I love most about what I received is that it was ribbon I typically would not purchase for myself.
And while I may not be totally in love with the card I made...I am totally in love with the ribbon I used!
In fact, on this baby I used 3 different kinds of ribbon.
My favorite is that scallopy knit squiggle ribbon. :)
I have no idea what the name of it is.  I tried to find it on their website but couldn't.
This stuff is NICE.
It's sturdy in that you can cut it and it doesn't fray.  The 2 strips I used are cut right at the edge of the card.  And it's dainty enough in it's design.
LOVE!
I made some paper flowers...cut out, distressed and sponged.  Threw in some random loose crystal gems for the centers..ShaZAM!  Look at that pretty crocheted "ribbon" attached...me likey!

I used OCL Big Thanks for the sentiments.
Gotta give a Shout OUT to OCL! ;)

In fact, make sure to stop by the OCL Blog (every day this week) to see more of what you can do when you pair OCL and May Arts!  In fact, if you leave a comment here, there and everywhere (lol) you are entered to win some fab CANDY!  Check out the OCL Blog for all the deets!
But leave a comment here before you go!  ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

What's Cookin': Sauteed Zucchini

Time for another recipe by yours truly!
It's been a while right?
This recipe for sauteed zucchini is so easy and so YUMMY!  We've had some ginormous zucchini's grow in  our garden this year.  And a spaghetti squash plant that has been strangling and killing everything in it's path.   But that's a story for another day.  Today I want to talk about ZUCCHINI.

Let me just get this out in the open:  I LOVE Zucchini.
Love LOVE Love

It doesn't hold a CANDLE to my love for chocolate...but, frankly, not much does!

So let's see..where do I begin..
Wash and slice up your zuke.
I try to make all the slices uniform in size...
hubby does not (on purpose).

Throw a little bit of olive oil in a pan...no exact measurement.
Hubby made these and put the olive oil ON TOP of the zucchini.  Either way it doesn't really matter.
What matters are the spices!  Garlic, pepper, garlic, italian seasoning, and, um..maybe some more garlic.
DO NOT USE GARLIC SALT!
Then toss it around.

Sometimes I throw in halved grape tomatoes and sliced onion...YUM!

I cover my pan..hubby does not.

We're like Felix and Oscar that way.
And since I'm laying it all out today I'll tell you that I'm most definitely OSCAR.
I'm dating myself aren't I?

For the record, I think his always tastes better.  But I attribute that to the fact that I didn't cook it.

Sautee your zuke over  medium heat.  Make sure to toss and flip them often.
When they are done they will look like this.
*This photo is from a batch made without the tomatoes/onions.
I realize this is nothing special to look at.
But keep an open mind.  And trust me.

It is goooooood.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
